We like to put everything in one place for you to easily catch up on all the announcements you may have missed. Here’s a recap on Sony’s announcements at Gamescom 2014:
Let’s start with what you can start with, P.T.
PT, which stands for playable teaser, is actually a teaser experience for Silent Hills, the newly announced horror game from Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, being developed by Kojima Productions and being published by Konami. This demo is available to PS4 owners right now. Check out this terrifying, talking bag trailer:
Now, for the new titles, there were quite a few.
The heavenly Sword team is working on a new game (that looks a like Heavenly Sword) called Hellblade.
We also got the first gameplay footage of Bloodborne.
But AAA titles were not taking over the conference, as Sony also had a few surprises up their sleeve including trailers for Volume, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a new look at Rime and the debut of The Tomorrow Children.
We also were in for a shock as the creator of Rayman, who still works at Ubisoft, debuted a brand new studio and a new game, called Wild.
Wild was very impressive. It’s exciting to see something new from such a talented creator, and speaking of talented creators… we finally were introduced to Media Molecule’s next game, which turns out to be a rework of Tearaway entitled Tearaway Unfolded. It brings the impressive Vita game to the console, with a few additional features and tweaks to make the game work for the dual shock 4.
It is an exciting time to be a fan of games, and these are just some of the announcements that came out of the Sony Press conference. It is nice to know that the talented teams like Media Molecule and Housemarque are bringing their talents to the PS4 with new experiences for that console. In closing, Gamescom is full of exciting games.
Let’s end with Housemarque’s debut trailer for their new game: Alienation.
